do those credit repair services work. i have spoken to a few of them and they told me that they are able to get late satisfied payments off my credit report and the also told me that they are able to remove a bankruptcy off my report that is 8 years old. how do they work and what is desputing and item mean.

Thanks, Maggie. I was watching a t.v. show that showed people getting ripped off. My credit isn’t TOO terrible, so I figured I just need to take the right steps.

There is a law firm that keeps popping up on websites that says they can improve your credit score. Has anyone actuallly tried this service. If so what was your experience with them? Am I better off trying to repair my credit myself.

So, by paying off the 5 credit cards that I currently have(some with amounts ranging from 1,500-2,500), should that raise my credit score a great deal?
